Secure Browser closed when you started your exam?
Your exam needs your computer's location, and Secure Browser couldn't get it. Follow these three steps, then launch your exam again. You don't need to reinstall anything.
Turn on location services
WINDOWS
Your browser will ask first. Confirm, then turn on the settings below.
Windows 11 (in order; each one needs the one before it)
- Open Settings > Privacy & security > Location.
- Turn on Location services.
- Turn on Let apps access your location.
- Select the arrow next to Let apps access your location. At the bottom of the list, turn on Let desktop apps access your location.
Windows 10
- Open Settings > Privacy, then select Location in the menu on the left.
- Under Allow access to location on this device, check that location is on. If it’s off, select Change and turn the switch on.
- Turn on Allow apps to access your location.
- Scroll down past the list of apps and turn on Allow desktop apps to access your location.
Shortcut: press the Windows key, type location, and open Location privacy settings.
On a work or school computer, your organization may have turned location off. Use a personal computer instead.
MAC
Your browser will ask first. Confirm, then turn on the settings below.
- Open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services.
- Turn on Location Services.
- Find PSI Bridge Secure Browser in the list and turn it on. If it isn’t listed, you’ll be asked when you launch your exam.
Turn off any VPN
Disconnect from any VPN. If your computer has Wi-Fi, turn it on. A wired connection works too.
Launch your exam again
Go back to your exam link and launch your exam again.
On a Mac: when asked to let PSI Bridge Secure Browser use your location, select Allow right away. The request disappears after a few seconds.
Still closing after these steps?

Did the message say your location is blocked?
Then the location check worked, but this exam can’t be taken from where you are right now. Your test sponsor decides where the exam can be taken. Changing your settings won’t fix this.
Contact your test sponsor or PSI Support. If you’re close to a state or country border, mention it: computer location isn’t always exact.
