Which license types are covered?

Pennsylvania Insurance offers exams for a variety of insurance licensure needs. For a full list of available licensure exams, visit the Pennsylvania Insurance program page.

Pennsylvania Insurance Department allows unlimited retakes, you can keep trying until you pass. Candidates must wait at least 24 hours before scheduling the next exam attempt and each retake requires paying the complete exam fee again.

Applicants with disabilities or those who would otherwise have difficulty taking the examination should request for alternative arrangements by contacting a PSI Support Specialist. To provide you with the best support in the shortest time, please have the following requirements available before submitting your request.

  • You are required to submit documentation from the medical authority or learning institution that rendered a diagnosis. Verification must be uploaded to PSI on the letterhead stationery of the authority or specialist and include the following:
    • Description of the disability and limitations related to testing
    • Recommended accommodation/modification
    • Name, title and telephone number of the medical authority or specialist
    • Original signature of the medical authority or specialist
